The production of a new author’s project by the debutant director, graduate of the St. Petersburg State Institute of Cinema and Television Vasily Korepanov has begun at the studio.
During his studies, in addition to creating author’s cartoons, he took part in the work on several large projects of the institute, including the animadoka “Lyceum Students” (2017). Vasya is the author of the comics (under the pseudonym BACR) “The Land before the Land Before the Beginning of Time”, “Cupheads”, “Yotsuba and the Sect”, “Emptiness and Grasshoppers”, as well as an untitled comic book for the collection “Our Childhood”; participant and finalist of the pitching of animation projects of Soyuzmultfilm and the Open Russian Animation Film Festival in Suzdal (2019) with the project of the animated mini-series The Hunt for the Snark. With the project of an animated series for adults, “The Little Kingdom of Lies and Vice” was selected to the long list of the Riki lab competition. Author of films: “Tortik”, “In the Depths”, “Hunting the Snark”, “Portrait of a Boring Man” and others. His project “Around Victor” is a parody adventure comedy for a family audience. It tells about life in an unusual city where aliens, wizards, ghosts and anthropomorphic animals coexist. The quiet course of life is disturbed by the sudden disappearance of schoolchildren. Quiet teenager Vitya, along with his friends – a hyperactive cat girl Maruko and a rabbit with post-traumatic syndrome Khrum-Khrum – begin their own investigation, which leads the trio to an unexpected clue.
